Password Manager LastPass was hacked last month, so what?
The Internet is full of uncertainties so be very careful about what information you choose to share on it. It’s not because people are all malicious and constantly trying to have a go at hacking you, it’s because the Internet was designed to be free and open. It’s been made too easy for the “baddies”. You probably heard about LastPass getting hacked – although a minor breach, LastPass did ask every user to update their master password. They were confident that actual stored passwords weren’t stolen, but user email addresses, authentication hashes, and password reminders were deemed “compromised”. What else is insecure? Though the hack doesn’t seem to fundamentally undermine what LastPass does, it’s still concerning to see it happen to a widely used, consumer-friendly provider of strong individual cybersecurity.
