Zy’s Tips #10

Get Zy’s Tips delivered directly to your inbox With the increasing prevalence of cyber fraud, it pays to do a simple check of a website’s security before giving away any personal details online. To verify if a website is secure look for the padlock symbol in the web address/URL bar of your browser.       Some browsers may display an (!) symbol instead of a padlock to indicate a site is not secure.       Don’t be alarmed if one of your favourite websites or blogs doesn’t show the padlock. Simply displaying and reading the content of an unsecured site won’t cause any harm, but you should be mindful before entering personal details such as credit card information into these sites as data could be intercepted by hackers in transit.
